What is a consignment sale?
Consigning is the act of placing an item with an agent for the purpose of selling the item. Therefore, a consignment sale is an event where sellers (consignors) bring their items for sale. We, the consignee, secure a venue to hold the sale. We also advertise the sale event to the general public, organize the merchandise at the venue and conduct the sale.
Benefits of participating in our Consignment Sale:
- Helps you stretch your dollars by providing quality items are very reasonable prices.
- You set the price you want your items to sell – unlike with a garage sale you’ll not need to haggle with customers
- You do not need to be there to sell your items. However, participating for a volunteer shift will earn you a higher percentage than when you don’t
- You spend less time and money than you would attending garage sales all over town, and for several weekends.
- Gives you an opportunity to donate unsold items to charity
How do I get started?

- Get paid for your items that sold
How much money do I make?
As a consignor you’ll make 65% of the selling price of your items. You can earn more by volunteering. This link has more information on volunteering.

Is consigning difficult?
No it’s not. There are millions of North American parents just like you who regularly participate in consignment sales. Start early and pace yourself. We’ll help you along the way.
How do I price my items / How can I ensure my items sell fast?
- The lower the price, the faster an item is more likely to sell.
- Price your items reasonably - at about 25 to 35 per cent of the original sale price.
- Only consign items that are in EXCELLENT condition – smell fresh, are not ripped or faded, have no stains or missing buttons and have no loose threads. Electronic items must have batteries, have all parts and be in working condition.
- Mark your items for the 50% discount on the last day of the sale.
- Minimum price for an item is $1.00
